Mkay... A little explanation is due here.

First of all, that fluorescent blue stuff on the bat is blood, but when the iron and platelets come into contact with the light and chemicals inside, it turns it into a cyan colour.

"Why?!" you might ask? Well, Nanaki was sick of seeing so much red; red in blood and gore and death of so many friends and family, red from the original Michael's eyes, when he'd been possessed, and red from her own fur.

So, she decided to create a weapon that not only changed the colour of blood, but one that a passersby might not realize as a weapon as such; merely another way to light through a city choked with pollution, disease, monochrome and darkness.

After all, who's to say that that's not merely a large glow stick drizzled with neon paint?
